About Ronald McDonald House® at Stanford
Ronald McDonald House at Stanford (RMHS) creates a comfortable place to stay and supportive community for families with seriously ill children receiving specialized medical treatment at local hospitals. Established in 1979, the House offers families the opportunity to bond and engage in a comprehensive mix of creative, safe, and participatory programming designed to ease everyday burdens and allow them to focus on what matters most – the health and well-being of their children. In 2016, the House completed the first phase of an expansion project that increased capacity from 47 private family rooms to 67 rooms. When the second phase of this expansion is completed later this year, the House will provide a continuum of care to 123 families each night and become the largest Ronald McDonald House in the world.
